By focusing on doing one thing extremely well, Air Toxics Ltd. has become one of the nation's leading test facilities for the environmental analysis of air. ATL specializes in the analysis of organic air pollutants and performs both source emissions and ambient air testing. Among the analytical services offered are: EPA Stationary Source Test Methods, EPA TO-Compendium Air Methods, EPA IP Indoor Air Methods, LUFT-Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons, and California Air Resources Board Stationary Source Test Methods.

However, our laboratory analyses are not limited to just the specified method TCLs. Because we have a method development group, ATL is able to actively seek out technically difficult projects. These projects force us to continuously expand our technical expertise and offer our clients a unique combination of technical competence and SW-846 data quality. For example, ATL was one of three laboratories awarded an EPA contract to validate the CLP TO-14 Statement of Work. This experience, along with successful completion of thousands of TO-14 projects has enabled us to validate over 80 compounds using TO-14 protocols. Currently, our standard TO-14 TCL consists of 61 compounds including polar species like ethanol and methyl ethyl ketone (MEK).

The laboratory is responsible for extending methods and responding to various QA/QC regime. For example, our projects rarely have a common target compound list. It seems that every project has its own list of target compounds, and reporting limits. The laboratory performs the various studies (e.g. recovery, hold time, MDL, etc.) in order to ensure data defensibility. Many of our projects have special QA/QC requirements. These can be fairly straightforward, like a special calibration or changing the precision and accuracy windows, or they can be very elaborate like AFCEE 3.0. The laboratory ensures that we are able to accommodate individual client needs and meet project specific data quality objectives.
